Therapy for Autism & Neurodivergence in Alpharetta & Online Across GA
Support that meets neurodivergent brains where they are & cultivates hope for the future.
When your brain works differently, navigating life’s challenges can often be overwhelming, frustrating, and leave you feeling misunderstood.
You’ve been trying to make things work in a world that just isn’t designed around how your brain operates. Maybe you’ve learned to mask just to get through the day, pushing yourself to act “normal” and “fine” while holding in frustration or confusion. And when things finally spill over, it feels like you’re the one who gets blamed, but no one else sees how hard you’re trying or how much effort it takes just to keep up.
Maybe you received a diagnosis that has helped your experiences make more sense, but it didn’t tell you how to actually manage the day-to-day challenges you’re still facing. Or maybe you suspect you or your child might be neurodivergent based on your own research or what you’ve learned on social media, but you’re not sure what to do with that information. Either way, you know something needs to change, and you’re looking for support that fits your brain (for once).
You’re here because…
Daily life takes more energy than it should, and even basic things like keeping up with hygiene, getting out of bed, starting tasks, or following through feel harder than they are for everyone else.
The pressure to hide your real reactions, thoughts, and personality leaves you exhausted or shut down by the end of the day.
Your emotions hit fast and hard, leading to meltdowns, panic, or impulsive moments that others don’t understand.
Relationships feel confusing or fragile, and you’re struggling to make friends, keep them, or repair things when there’s conflict.
School or work has become a series of fires to put out, with missed assignments, calls home, burnout, or warnings from teachers or supervisors.
You’ve noticed your child or teen experiencing these things, acting out at home or school, hurting themselves, or saying things that scare you—and you’re not sure how to help them anymore.
There is a path forward that honors who you are & leads to a better life.
Let’s find it together.
How we can help
A space to feel understood (not judged) & skills that work with your brain (not against it).
-
That might mean learning how to notice emotions earlier, interrupt impulsive urges, or communicate needs more clearly—skills that tend to make a big difference for neurodivergent brains. We also spend time helping you get clear on the kind of life you want to build and what’s getting in the way of it right now, so therapy isn’t just about having fewer problems but also about moving toward something that feels meaningful.
-
Sessions happen on a steady weekly rhythm, giving you a predictable space to practice new skills and talk through what’s coming up. To maintain that consistency, we recommend meeting with us in our office, but we also offer online sessions if that makes it easier to show up.
We’ll customize tools from methods like DBT that you can use when things feel overwhelming to help you stay in control of your actions. And when something hard happens between sessions, you’ll have access to coaching from your therapist so you don’t have to worry about remembering every strategy on your own.
-
We offer classes for family members who want a deeper understanding of what their child is facing and how to support them effectively. This helps everyone speak the same language at home and practice new habits without creating more conflict.
Therapy for autism & neurodivergence can help you or your child…
Handle intense emotions without getting swept away by them.
Learn how to catch emotional buildup earlier so it doesn’t turn into a meltdown, shutdown, or impulsive reaction that creates more stress. With practice, you’ll be able to pause long enough to choose a safer response, even when the urge to act feels immediate. Over time, those moments that used to pull you under start to feel more tolerable.
Understand what’s happening inside your brain and body.
Instead of feeling blindsided by reactions, you’ll learn how to notice the thoughts, urges, and physical cues that show up before emotions spike. This makes it easier to make sense of what you’re feeling instead of assuming something is “wrong” with you. Having that clarity gives you a stronger foundation and more self-trust around choosing what to do next.
Communicate more clearly and get your needs met.
Practice saying what you want or need in ways that are direct, respectful, and more likely to lead to connection rather than conflict. These skills help with everything from repairing misunderstandings to navigating friendships and family dynamics without shutting down or lashing out. As you get better at expressing yourself, relationships start to feel less confusing and more supportive.
Build a life that feels sustainable, meaningful, and worth living.
We’ll figure out together what kind of life you want and define the routines, relationships, goals, and daily habits that make things feel doable instead of overwhelming. Once those goals are clear, we help you break them into steps you can actually follow through on, whether that’s staying in school, showing up to work, or feeling stable enough to keep living at home. Little by little, you start to see a future that feels possible to build and worth sharing with others.
Life doesn’t have to feel this hard.
You deserve support that actually lightens your load.

FAQs
-
It can be hard to tell, especially when emotions and behaviors shift quickly or seem out of the blue. Many autistic and ADHD kids and teens struggle with big feelings, sensory overload, or social confusion that show up as anger, panic, withdrawal, or impulsive behavior. Our team can identify ND patterns and help you or your child build skills that work for their brain, not against it.
-
No, you don’t need a diagnosis to start therapy here. Many people come to us because they suspect they may be neurodivergent or resonate with things they’ve learned through social media, research, or conversations with others. We focus on what you’re struggling with now and what support you need, not on labels. Whether you have a diagnosis or not, we can help you build the skills to create a life that feels more manageable.

Dr. Moore is trained and experienced with formal diagnostic assessment, so we can do screening and help you figure out whether pursuing testing would be useful for you or your child. If an assessment is needed, we’ll refer you to trusted providers who specialize in comprehensive psychological evaluations. In the meantime, therapy can help you address the challenges you’re facing right away so you don’t have to wait for a diagnosis to get support.
-
Some neurodivergent folks do better with the structure and sensory stability of in-person sessions, while others feel more comfortable opening up from home on a screen, which is why we offer both. We’ll help you decide which option fits your needs best, and we can switch formats if things change.
-
Yes, we believe parent involvement is important. While your child needs some privacy to build trust with their therapist, we also want you to feel informed about general progress, goals, and ways you can help at home. When it’s helpful, we offer parent or family sessions so you can learn the same skills your child is practicing in therapy. You can learn more about our approach to working with kids and teens here.
-
We expect that. Many neurodivergent kids need movement, breaks, fidgets, or alternative ways of engaging, and we adapt sessions to fit their brains rather than forcing them into rigid expectations. Our therapists are experienced in keeping kids engaged in ways that feel natural and supportive.

If we believe your child may need more support than outpatient therapy can offer, we’ll talk with you honestly and help you determine the right next steps. We understand this can be scary, and we’ll walk you through what higher-level care looks like and whether it’s truly necessary. Our goal is always safety, stability, and the least restrictive option that still supports your child’s wellbeing.
