Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Classes

Anyone can manage their lives more effectively by learning DBT skills!

DBT Classes
: DBT is designed to help clients regulate their mood, control impulses, increase assertiveness, and tolerate distress.  Clients learn cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness skills to better identify and manage their emotions.  They then practice applying these skills to better tolerate difficult life events and improve their ability to interact effectively with others. Four key behaviors that DBT increases are:

  • Mindfulness
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Distress Tolerance and
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness

All classes are held  at our offices at 5755 North Point Parkway, Suite 240, Alpharetta, GA 30022

Class participants need to have an individual therapistAn Individual Intake Appointment is necessary prior to attending your first DBT class. We communicate weekly with your individual therapist as a part of the treatment.

Each training module covers Mindfulness plus one other key DBT behavior — Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, or Interpersonal Effectiveness.  We have been offering ongoing classes for years:

Teen/Adolescent classes for minor age clients

Young Adult classes

Adult classes

Parent / Support person classes

We also offer DBT-informed Coping Skills classes for pre-teens.

Clients commit and pay for each 8 week module at a time.  There are 3 different modules. Your individual DBT therapist should be intensively trained. This is because key components for how to integrate the skills into your life are covered individually in a specific manner. If you already have a therapist and they are not intensively trained in DBT, you can transfer completely or temporarily to an intensively trained DBT therapist during Phase One of your DBT treatment, and then transfer back for Phase Two, if desired.

All classes are held at  our offices at 5755 North Point Parkway, Suite 240, Alpharetta, GA 30022

We are currently accepting new clients for individual DBT and DBT classes.
